
The dialogue was almost overbearing in its ability to make me grin from ear to ear, wishing that the entirety of Mafia 3’s main adventure had been spent with the group of friends. The opening act was filled with hilarious quips and general banter between the trio that immediately made me care about the characters. Lincoln is paired up with Charles’ daughter, Roxy, and a hippie-type friend named MJ who, of course, grows weed in his spare time. Lincoln Clay meets with an old friend from the main campaign, Charles Laveau, as the pair set out to take down sheriff Walter “Slim” Beaumont following the murder of a civil rights activist. This piece of DLC takes a different approach, instead focusing on high-speed chases through the vast fields and settlements located across the parish but it lets go of that emphasis as soon it hits its climax. The first of three story DLC’s, Faster, Baby!, focuses on the rural township of Sinclair Parish, located on the southwest fringes of New Bordeaux as an addition to the larger map. I was able to appreciate the 60’s era atmosphere, sounds, and sights without the expectation that the main campaign came with. "Stones Unturned" will explore Lincoln's background as a soldier at the height of the Vietnam conflict, pairing him with a CIA operative to settle a score that began in the jungles of southeast Asia. "Sign of the Times," the second expansion, involves a series of ritual killings and tasks Lincoln, the protagonist controlled by the user, with hunting down the cultists responsible.

New Bordeaux is an analogue for New Orleans and Mafia 3 is set in the late 1960s. These include on expansion called "Faster, Baby," which, remarkably, involves a corrupt sheriff terrorizing civil rights activists on the outskirts of New Bordeaux. That said, there will be premium DLC for the game, as anyone would expect from a publicly traded publisher. Vehicles will also get a racing series, detached from the game's narrative, that deliver their own rewards. The vehicle customization includes personalized license plates and superfly paint jobs.

Users will get new character outfits to change the look of the main character, a weapons pack 30 days after launch and vehicle customization options, for starters. The makers of Mafia 3 detailed plans at PAX West for their free downloadable content coming to everyone after the game launches Oct.
